It is a non-profit initiative, made up of international organizations, academic institutions, researchers and society in general, with the aim of opening and bringing knowledge to anyone who requests it, not only by adhering to the initiatives already formed but by creating a collaborative network that allows knowledge about Open Science to be concretized, through information campaigns, workshops, webinars, making use of open source technology tools and platforms, decentralizing information and adopting web accessibility bases.
The demand of society for access to information in the face of the changes caused by the recent health crisis has allowed academic institutions, research centers and collegiate bodies, choose to improve their practices based on UN recommendations around Open Science issues and its 2030 agenda, which are a series of guidelines to improve the quality of life of developing countries through the democratization of knowledge and active citizen participation through the Sustainable Development Goals that serve as a compass for scientific work and technological, not only from scientific production centres, but for anyone with or without academic background, students, teachers, researchers, librarians and the general public of any age, gender and social context.
